For this low key fashion photography shoot I used a soft box and a black backdrop to create as much shadowing and contrast as possible. Throughout the low key fashion shoot I had my ISO as 800, my shutter speed was -1/125, my aperture was 4.5 and my white balance was incandescent. When asking my model to pose I asked her to specifically look up so that I could show the affects of the soft box light being underneath her face, above her face and at the sides to see what had the better affect and what created the most shadowing and contrast. For these photos I also positioned my models face looking upwards so that it would resemble this photograph as I liked the way that the models face was highlighted and was the focal point of the image.
